We have all made many posts over the years of TBR's and I want to make one I think all coaches should agree is needed:

THANKS All the girls that have given me the priviledge to coach them, to learn their likes and dislikes, to see their smile when things went right and their tears when things went wrong! Thank you for helping me stay young, thank you for teaching me that I can still learn! Thank you for showing me nothing is that important! Thanks for the oportunity to attend your signings when U reached your dream of playing college softball! Thanks for letting me always have daughters even when my two had moved on to college and marriage. Thanks for providing me with a sense of worth! Thanks for making me look like I know how to Coach! Thanks for allowing me to meet your parents and for most of them becoming friends! Thanks for the coaching buddies and the other kids I have met! Thanks for Pizza, burgers, buffet, and biscuits! Thanks for prayers and helping me to not feel sorry for myself! Thanks for the stories, some I wish I did not hear, thanks for letting me win the sprints, and most of all thanks for letting me do something I truly love to do! Love to all Blues present and past! Oh and thanks to all the other young ladies that I have grown to know thru this wonderful game, you're a special group and I look forward to a few more years of thanking YOU!!! :twocents:

    One for you Rodney

thanks Rodney for showing my kids some class seven years ago when our 14u teams battled it out in an 11 inning thriller. thanks for taking the time to shake hands or hug every player on my team, wiping some tears off of some faces and making them smile to realize its not all about winning, its love of the game and the kids who play it, the friendships made for life and the games that you'll remember the rest of your life. my kids in college still talk about "the game".

Not much more you can add to that! The girls I've been allowed to coach are not yet old enough for signing days, but I can't wait. For me, I remember the first days of T-ball and coach pitch working with a couple young ladies who were ready to quit because they couldn't hit or catch the ball. I would like to thank all of the past players and their parents I once coached who came to see my dad in the hospital. It truly does prove that winning and what team your on doesn't matter when your "family". I am thankful for the girls in our organization to open their arms and welcome my daughter into the program since day one. Thank you to their parents and coaches for teaching them the "Big" picture in life. Last, I would like to thank some local college players for working with some of my former teams when we were 10u and 12u. They are not all on the same teams anymore, but are making an impact with who they're with. I would like to end by thanking Kip, John, and Rodney for second chances in life to make a difference. :PubDrink:

    You are the real deal....

This post just once again proves what I have said in the past, you are the real deal! You coach for all the RIGHT reasons and you are fair, you give constructive criticism, you admit when you do not know the correct anwser, but you find out the correct anwser. You are the type of person that I want my DD to look up to, to use as a role model, to let be her mentor! You never actually coached my DD, but you worked with her and proved to her, that you don't have to coach a kid to help a kid. You gave my DD back her belief in herself when others had taken it away from her! You have proven many times over to be trustworthy, honest and knowledgable person. That would be why so many people have entrusted you with coaching their DDs! I value the fact that I have had you to ask questions of and guidence from. Thank you for being the role model for coaches! You are a class act and I am thankful and honored to know you!

This is a great thread. As i sit here wondering if im forgetting anyone i should thank, it dawned on me that I am a better person today because of all the people I have met thru this sport. Not Just the girls and parents on my DD's team, but everyone, opposing coaches, players, parents, directors, and even a few umpires. I know most of these people on a first name basis and would stop and talk to them anytime & anywhere. So a big THANK YOU to everyone in the softball family.

While coaching wrestling this season, I have had players and parents from other teams stop me to talk about softball. WOW, what a relief! LOL. Really it does feel good to leave a nice impression with people and when you see them in a crowded gym or in the school parking lot they say, hey aren't you---- from -----. The funny thing is my daughter helps take score and sees a lot more players and parents than I do, so at away matches or tournaments she like to get disracted by talking softball. This past Christmas tournament she was with some other players playing wiffle ball in a second gym not being used until the head coach told them to get out.....nicely. Can't wait until regionals when she will know a lot more......

    Old friend

Those young girls played so hard and it was one of the best games I have ever been involved with and how could U not love the effort of both teams. Your girls showed that when U give it your best, good things can happen! Guess the Coach had them prepared! LOL to the Cheese, the one and only!
