The three most important things that will get your DD into college are you her and most importantly her GRADES. softball can help some but most if not all spend more over their playing years then they receive in money for playing.
And I am speaking from experience.

    man, this is true

dawgfan, I agree to this, my dd is going to a d2 school, cost is 18,000. she received 15,000 for academics, grants, etc. we found out that the most this school and others like will offer is 3000 per year. most only receive 2000 per year. I dont even want to add up all we've spent over the last 9 years, but i know is a heck of a lot more than 12,000.:banginghe

Ray--- I agree with you ,but any money is better than no money, and if her talent can help get her there ,then I'm pushing her to be the best...Yes grades are important and in the end that is what counts..........I've been coaching softball probably as long as you have and over the years the competition for a spot on a college team has been tough to get...tell Ashton & "C" good luck tonight--- go and win it all............... SAT gets the most attention, but the grades are #1, especially honors and a.p. courses. However, can you really put any limit to the value of the self confidence, the determination, and the self-discipline softball cultivates to get them through college after they get there?
