    i believe you hit it on the head, one leaves early, dead ball and it doesnt matter what the other two do....hey, one of you ump type guys, correct me if i'm wrong here

    Sure did, and the coach got suspended for beating the team so bad. I was at that game and the score could have been much more. The coach tried all sorts of tactics to keep from running the score up.

    Much of this is a little too "PC" for me... What is the message sent to the players when they and their coach are the "bad guys" for winning. I really do believe it should fall more on the losing team's coach to end the misery for his players.

    My suggestion would be that, once the game got to the point that the outcome was in no doubt, the coach of the team behind would suggest that the scoreboard be turned off (all stats to that point would be official) and the teams just play for fun and practice. Maybe have a 5 batter then switch deal.
