    it's part of the game... i don't think there is any place for protection in HS. That is for the Coach to deal with.. HS kids don't need to be making these calls. Period.

    Now as a pitcher it is OK to throw inside. if a batter gets hit it is unfortunate but there is a kid standing there that can hit a bullet back at you before you can blink.. you have to be able to set a tone that you aren't going to let the batter just Tee Off on you.

    I agree

    with jd05. Not in high school. But, looking at video. I think he planted wrong. This cause the ball to go behind him. Just covering up a bad pitch.
