OK. Great throw by VT RF'er, great catch and athletic move by the catcher. K. Wilson the runner made a great effort trying to find the plate.
Again, great play by the catcher. BUT I don't think the catcher's glove with ball ever actually tagged him. His glove on left hand and Wilson slid to the inside.

Call was out. Avent got tossed.

....if he was tagged, awesome play, if not, the ump called what he saw. If the Pack loses this game its on the coaches and some not so dominant pitching.

    1:12 am we're up 10-9 1 out bottom of the 9th runner on 1B.

I could never tell by looking at the replay whether the catcher actually made the tag, but it was a great play by the catcher. The throw was slightly off, & he caught the ball, blocked the plate with his lower body, & survived the bang-bang collision. Runner was still trying to get to the plate after all that, which I'm sure influenced the umpire. And, the catcher maybe did make the tag. I'm sure there will be a utube video to analyze today. But great play.

If it looks like an out....he's out.

Well, it looked like an out to that particular umpire.

Than I guess he's out. Ever notice how many "non tags" are out on steal plays. Baseball is a game that rewards smooth play and umpires play a part in that. If everything "looks good" and it looks like an out...it's an out. It's all perception.

    yep

I totally agree. If it's a smooth / nifty defensive play, the runner does not stand a chance about 95% of the time.
