This Years Playoff System

    All,

    Any thought on how this years playoff selection fairness was?

    I thought it was actually pretty fair - what worries me is in the following years to come will it change the non-conference scheduling of certain teams. Will coach's opt for an easier schedule to try to get themselves into the playoffs through the backdoor regardless of how they did in conference:twocents:

    Any thoughts?

    As far as this year goes, I didn't any real problems with the playoff selection process. Schedules were already set in place before this was put into effect. I definitely agree though that beginning next year you will see a definite trend among some coaches to pack a bunch of "cupcakes" into the non-conference schedule. Up here in the mountains, I see it having a significant effect. The small schools (1A and 2A) may back away from booking the 3A and 4A schools on their schedules.
