Kannapolis assistant coach Ken Orbison who was taken to the hospital by ambulance during the 6th inning of the Kannapolis/Morehead City game was kept in the High Point hospital intensive care unit all night for observation, but he was released the following morning. For those that know "Orby", he is always at the ballpark (either baseball or football) and quite possibly (due to the heat) he just overdid it. They think he had a mild heart attack and he was supposed to see his personal doctor in Kannapolis the following morning.

Thanks for asking,,,, Orby is one of those "baseball people" that has been around "a few years", and everyone knows him and likes him. Again thanks for asking.

Thanks for the update. no one at the ballpark knew anything on tuesday. glad to hear he is doing better and hopefully by now back at home resting or as he would probably have it back at football practice.

I think this past weekend settled the argument of which is better showcase or legion That was some of the best talent gathered at 1 place that you could ask for.great crowds, great teams, great atsmophere what more does a baseball fan want. Legion no doubt is the way to go.If the commisioners would reduce some of the teams in certain areas you would have teams like you had in the state tournament to watch all summer long.

There are some good showcase teams out there but the talent at the states this year was awesome. Legion definitely wins out.

Well theres obviously more to legion ball than just the talent,,,,,,,,, the crowds at Kannapolis legion games this summer were just amazing, and if any of you were in Thomasville for the winner's bracket finals Sunday night between Kannapolis and Caldwell County, you had 2 great fan bases supporting their teams with noise on every single pitch, and the energy level in the ballpark was just out of this world.

I will tell you that if a catcher is bouncing he can block the view of the umpire. Remember, the umpire has to "lock" in on a position, and pray the catcher knows what he is doing. If the catcher bounces, and the umpire can't SEE A STRIKE, then it must be a ball.
