Tiffany Crouse Celebration- Please read

On April 19th the Tiffany Crouse Celebration will be held at ACHS Central Park.

9:30 Am---3A West Iredell vs 4A Weddington

11 AM-----#8 4A Freedom vs HM 4A N.Mecklenburg

1:15 PM---#1 1A East Surry vs #6 4A Hopewell

3:30 PM---#1 2A Central Davidson vs #4 4A Alexander Central

6 PM ------#1 4A North Davidson vs #10 4A Audrey Kell

Rankings as of April 4th

Seven ranked teams and one honorable mention in one day will be the best collection of teams this year until the state finals at Walnut Creek.

All proceeds from the tournament will go to the Tiffany Crouse Memorial Scholarships which is presented each year to deserving ACHS students,

 

I heard besides some of the best teams around, they will also have some of the BEST BBQ around, always a great tournament for such a great young lady, and to have Sherrill back as a part of it, WOW!!!!!!!!!!

Some people do not know about Tiffany Crouse. Could you explain why it is a celebration? I know about it and feel it is a great thing you are doing!!!!

 

Tiffany Crouse Games

The Crouse family is a huge part of the Alexander Central Softball family. I am going to paste a copy of the letter I have written to Mr Crouse's employer in hopes of a contribution. In all of my coaching days, it seems like the Lord burns the brighest candles/lights in players who are on this earth the shortest.
The Crouse's are raising money for this project to be erected at the entrance to our field. I have 10 very good teams coming to AC on the 19th. All the money raised will go toward the Flag Court. Here is the letter....

"Dennis Crouse and the entire Crouse family hold a special place in the hearts of Alexander County and surrounding residents. We hold this family up high and regard them with only the highest accolades that a family can be given. The passion that we feel about the impact they have had on so many lives is a true testament to this special family.
As the coach at Alexander Central, I had the great privilege of coaching all three of the Crouse sisters (Natasha 1994-1998, Monica 1997-2000, and Tiffany 2001-2002) during their high school years. Each game, for 9 years, I was sincerely blessed to have their entire family as a part of softball program. Dennis and Kathy Crouse’s youngest daughter, Tiffany, never lived to see her dream of playing out her high school and college aspirations in softball. Her life was tragically ended by a skiing accident in Feb 2003.
Our field is where this young lady “lived” during her brief time on this earth. I watched a little kid practically grow up before my eyes as she watched her older sister’s play for the Lady Cougars. During this key modeling period, Tiffany picked up some great insights that allowed her to mold into a phenomenal player. She took her turn in the blue and white pinstripes and developed into an impressive talent on and off the field. She had seen “the game” on so many levels, and she was able to decipher and implement exactly who and what she wanted to be. Tiffany’s personality allowed anyone to feel totally at ease with her at once. Her ability to interact with others gave her a gift to relate with people from all walks of life. She carried on intellectual conversations with her advanced placement teachers, empathized with learning disabled students, and shared her personal testimony with others with ease. Tiffany was an extension of her family and what I call the, “Salt of the Earth”. .
She had an amazing impact on fellow teammates and became the leader of our team as a sophomore. Tiffany’s outstanding leadership abilities came from her knowledge, determination, personal drive, and excellent communication skills. She believed that anything worth doing was worth doing perfectly. It was a constant that Tiffany would ask for “just one more ball” to be hit to her each day. After already fielding hundreds of balls, she insisted that one more had to be fielded properly. Anyone around Tiffany respected her and had faith in her abilities, ideas, and character. Tiffany helped to organize our team practices and lead the team through the various warm-up, skill, individual, and group sessions. She provided me the keen insight on the performance of the team, mood of individual players, and strategy of the particular game situations. Her input was so valuable that I almost always implemented her recommendations. Tiffany was my master coach that I entrusted with the goodwill of the entire team. She was one of the finest and most mature young ladies that I have ever known. She was an excellent role model for her peers, exposed high moral values, and exhibited an impeccable character.
The softball program at the high school, Alexander Central, is working to build a memorial flag court in honor of Tiffany and the legacy that lives on through her family and friends. As a one high school county, we are a close-knit community that pulls together, supports each other in times of need, and celebrates the goodness of life and each other. We would like to honor Tiffany with a flag court built at the school’s softball field entrance. The life of a young person rarely has the kind of impact than that of Tiffany Crouse. It is because of her contributions to our students, family, friends and community that we want to celebrate her life. We would love to see the significance of her short life displayed in a monument of love and appreciation. As large a task as this will be, we have reached out for support to enable this project to be accomplished. We would like to have your help in building this memorial to Tiffany and the Dennis Crouse family. I have identified the commendations that we are most proud of and why we feel so strongly about this commemorative acknowledgment.
• To honor one of the finest student athletes to ever walk into Alexander Central High School.
• To honor a family for their lifelong unselfishness to the county, schools and community
• To serve as a flashpoint of conversation to keep Tiffany’s legacy in the forefront of how we should live. The location of the memorial has been placed at the opening for a purpose. As anyone goes onto our field grounds, they will see the actuality of a wholesome child that walked the walk of a great Christian and student, a role model for the next generation and a point of reflection for the older visitors.

In the past years in Alexander County, the Crouse family has always come to the help of the needy. I distinctly remember that Dennis, Kathy and Tiffany Crouse were the first visitors to see my daughter, Bailey. Upon their learning of my daughter’s diagnosis of cancer, the Crouse family became as emotionally distraught as if it were their own blood. They then went to work with several others to raise over $10,000 for my daughter’s medical bills. The Crouse’s supported me while my wife and our families helped my daughter fight cancer. The Crouse’s provided us with meals, emotional support and baby sitting services.
Eventually Tiffany matured to the driving age and became our summer babysitter in 2002. I could not have paid her enough money for the influence she had on my 3 daughter’s upbringing. I wanted her traits to rub off to my children. The impact she had on my children continues to live everyday and is evident by my children’s prayers at night. On a routine basis, my children pray for Tiffany and have said they feel her with them. Tiffany proudly wore the #8 jersey as an ACHS player. My daughter, Bailey, has chosen to honor her dear friend and caretaker, as a testament to her following and the remembrance of Tiffany’s life by wearing #8
Her contributions to our school and community can never be fully revealed. Tiffany has had a profound impact on my life. I am a better person, teacher, and coach because of the time I spent with Tiffany. I want this memorial to serve as a tribute and a reason to tell her story.

I have learned through the years that the softball family is like most families. They might argue, point fingers and yell a little bit, but when one of their own is in need, they are the first to wrap their arms around you and say, "How can I help?"

Now U see the true Monte! He wrote me one of the most heart felt e-mails when I was going through my cancer battle and later sent me a card and note that brought tears to my eyes. Judge people by their actions and their contibution in times of need. Another great job Monte!

This family is "Salt of the Earth". If you come to the park on the 19th, make sure you introduce yourself to the family and you will see the goodness in this family. Just a handshake to this family is a huge....A Unigue and refreshing family....
The Crouse's raised their 3 daughters and son in a small 4 room farmhouse in the deep country.....One of the houses that a whisper in one room can be heard in every room.
I am sure anything would be accepted in a heartfelt way.
