Anyone else feel like the officiating is always tighter in the playoffs? Maybe it is just me and the stress but it sure feels that way to me. Don't get me wrong, I am all for a tight game, just hate to see it clamped down on this time of year if it hasn't been......could just be the quality of officials getting better as we go....and again....could be my nerves!

I am guessing a little of both...I am sure the better officials will call most of the playoff games and I am sure they will want to call it close.

    Yes it does

Having witnessed the playoffs for the last three years yes the officiating does tighten up somewhat and I think it should when the quality of playing and players gte much better! And yes the officials that wrok playoffs are rewarded games based on there performance from the season. And when they get into the District and regional finals and the championships only the best officials are allowed to officiate. The way it should be!

I don't think it's any tighter... I just think it's better. During regular season, many player get away with carries and pushes, due to lack of experienced officiating. Certainly is not doing the player any favors, because SUDDENLY during critical playoff games it's getting called. They have become accustomed to doing it all year, not knowing any better and now (finally) they are getting called on it. This is something a coach should be working on all year, even if the area refs are not enforcing, realizing that it WILL be enforced to somewhat a greater degree as you advance through the play offs.

i attended the charlotte catholic - newton fred t foard match tonight.

hands pretty sloppy on both sides ... a number of throws, across the body sets too. not many calls from the officials on that stuff either.

guess this is why i'm NOT an official ...

After being involved in club ball for the past 3 years, it's painful as heck watching High School Officiating. :pinch:
