    If you have not heard the news, here's this from the Shelby Star and Randy Capps.

    "Pulling the plug
    I’m pretty disappointed that Fox Sports 1390 cancelled the local morning show with Jeff Champion and Andy Foster after only seven weeks on the air.

    Foster was also terminated from his full-time job at WADA-AM 1390’s sister station, WOHS-AM 730 after almost four decades on the job.

    He’s been on the mic for hundreds of Cleveland County sporting events, and a man who has given that much to his industry and community deserves better."


    If any of you have ever listened to a game in Cleveland County, you know that Andy has been the voice. I believe that he was also inducted into the FCA hall of Fame for his work. I know Hon Dines has met Andy a few times. It is a real shame how he has been treated in this deal. Let the station know how you feel. Andy sure could use all of your support right now.



    If any of you have been in town for a Post 82 Legion game and had your radio with you, more than likely you heard Andy Foster doing play by play.

    Sad Smashmouth. I live in Cherryville and have enjoyed Andy's Broadcast for yrs. I think the Owner of the Superstations has sold completly out to a new owner in Lincoln County. We have listened to Cherryvile and Shelby High battles as well as Legion in the area for yrs. Now you can seldom listen to a CHS game on the air for example last nite the Game between BC and CHS was for 1st place and they carried the Wl and N lincoln game. But he is the new owner and can do pretty much as he please. But i can tell you he will run back to Cherryville and do the Legion Games, but I think he has lost a lot of the stations fan's. And this deal with Andy will not set well with anyone from Cherryville or Cleveland County fans. He seemed to be the voice of all Cleveland County High Schools, very Professional with a unique voice.

    The only way we can make a change is to get to the sponsors. Let the sponsors know how you feel. See if you can't hit them in the pocketbook. This has to be one of the saddest jobs I have ever seen of running smalltown radio stations.
