Piedmont's duo of Morgan Tyson (sr.) and Timmy King (soph) is getting better as the year goes along.

Morgan has had his troubles in the first inning this year. If you don't get him then you are going to be in trouble. He really has command of his three pitches. Against Concord last week he had an evil change-up that kept them off stride all night.

Tim was inconsistant in the beginning of the year and Coach Flowe has done a good job not throwing the young sophmore to the wolves. But over the last 4 games he has become the ace of the staff. He had a good outing three weeks ago in a 3-1 loss to Weddington. Then beat a good N. Stanly team and then throws a 8 strikeout 5 inning 1 hitter against Parkwood. He completed the string last Friday when he throws a complete game 3 hitter against Weddington with 15 strikeouts. Was still strong at the end, striking out four in the 7th (PB on 3rd strike). Tim had a game early in the year when he struck out 17 Anson batters. His curveball can be unhittable at times.

Because of this forum, I have been following these two players for two years now ( I remember last year kiddingly asking if RJR was a cajun school). You are absolutely right crawdad, Larramore and Foushee are legit and to think they are only juniors...Wow!!!

Definitely Payne and Teague...Teague didn't lose the game against South Caldwell because he pitched poorly (he held them to 3 hits and one run)...he lost the game because of a lack of run support. This is definitely one of the best 1-2 duos.
