Braves, you need to keep that lucky windjacket,,, I believe 2005 was the year you PERFECTED the art of sandbagging, when you were trying to tell OTHERS (tj wasn't falling for it) that you thought SM would finish at the bottom,,, and then of course they go to the state finals.

cubs beat the canes and dirtbags last year. So, why do they have to go out of state. They would beat them out of state as well.

No love for the Megastars and Jeff McNeely? Excellent Showcase program last year, particularly at the younger ages. Plus, the Megastars Black 2010 beat the Panthers (at ASU and Wingate), OnDeck (at Radford) and CBC (at USC) during the summer of 2009. Also, no mention of the Carolina Heat. Another very good program.

First, I'm staying out of the discussion due to the fact that I haven't seen all the new teams that have cropped up over the past three or so years, but... a comment in the last post "particularly in the younger age groups" caught my eye.

For the most part, in my opinion, showcase involves primarily the 17u age group. Yes there are 18u teams and 16u teams that are strong but it is the 17u teams that are the most marketable to scouts and recruiters. These are the kids that are predominantly of the age and class in high school that will be playing during the summer and fall just before the signing date in November. It was obvious at East Cobb which age group drew the most attention and it was the 17u's.

14u and 15u ain't showcase... it's just travel ball... no matter what someone calls it.

Joe, not to pick on you, but when it comes to topics that concern our opinions about a team, player, organization, etc., there always seems to be a post that starts off as yours does. Someone has to be the first to post about their favorite, or their opinion. Why is it perceived as, "no love" just because no one else hasn't mentioned your favorite? That's what the board is for!!!

They've been invited, but surprisingly we did not hear back from them (Woodstock), so we moved on. But I agree, two very good programs.
