How many pitchers do you have?

Abbey Fan, Who are your pitchers? It sounds like you have quite a staff...

Laurel did play for Mixed Forces.
I think she is playing for the Lady Blues this year.

    Blues

Gold team has Ashton Ward, Morgan Childers, Constance Orr, and I think we just picked up Christina Melton (maybe spelled wrong) from Hopewell. We feel four D-1 kids, heck two are already signed D-1.

A team has Chelsea Leonard, Kalie Lang, Laurel Gregg, and Christine Johnson. Christine is our spot starter and relief pitcher as she plays third and outfield most of time. The first three are 2009 kids, the last one is 2008, if these four continue their excellent work ethic and we continue to play top notch competition, they all have D-1 potential as players, if not all as pitchers. One thing I want to add about these girls, they are team players and are wonderful to coach! None have it is about ME mentality and I think O would say the same thing about his girls on the Gold team. We are extremely fortunate!

It does not appear the Gold team will skip a beat with these kids development.

    Wow

This looks like a who's-who in the area. You read about all of these kids in the papers and on this board. Good luck to you and the teams.

Watched Chelsea Leonard last year in the third round of the playoffs. Her speed and movement are very impressive but the thing which really impressed me was her attitude and demeanor. Whether it was a strike a ball a hit or a pitch that might have been a strike but was not called, her expression never varied. She got the ball from the catcher went thru her pre pitch routine and kept on throwing. Don't know her off the field but her presence and maturity in the circle is way beyond a Soph. Best of Luck to her and the rest of Gene's girls.

    Constance

Constance has been injured but just got released and will be back soon. Butler will be that much tougher even though several other players have stepped it up in her absence. Constance can still "bring it"

Just want to point out Sarah Rappe has had an awesome year so far and Jess Bowen has been hitting the ball well and playing a solid first.

    ....

Sorry, just saw this. Mallory was a senior last year and not playing in college. She was the first baseman last year and was all conference a couple of years at Providence. Used to pitch, but Sheats, Wills and Quant were the main pitchers last year. All quality pitchers in different ways. Quant and Wills will be around for another two years after this season. Wills hurt her throwing/pitching hand in the first inning of the first game of the year this season, but will be back this week. She is mainly concentrating on hitting and fielding though we would love to have her throw some. She, Quant and JV starter, Habig, will most likely be the hurlers next year as well.

57 post so far and no mention of Southwestern Randolph pitchers
you dont go to the 3A final four ,two of the last three years by serving them up Alot of the pitchers that have been mentioned so far are awesome but come play SWR and you will get a pitching duel . SWR has played against several on the list in the past and a couple more duels are soon coming . Raleigh will make the final decision on who's the best..

    Younger Blues "stock pond"

The Blues younger team has 5 players starting on their varsity squads around the area as either 8th or 9th graders.

You will see Kristen Murphy on a D1 field somewhere in 5 years. She is an 8th grader from Thomasville area. She works her old man to death every single day to get to her goal :) ......Pitching at Univ of Michigan.

Britt Baker (Ft. mill), Nikki Helms (Forest Hills), Hailey jarman (Anson) are all position studs.

The rest are starting on their JV's and doing really well.
