Top Recruits for 2013 in the Triangle

    Personally, I do not think it is worth it. Sure, it can help some guys get noticed. But in the grand scheme of things, I feel like the costs do not outweigh the benefits to be on these sites.

    Now granted, I have some different philosophies about how showcases in general should be conducted. I think its a waste of a lot of people's money to play showcase. I think players should research the schools they are interested in (and have a legitimate chance of playing for), and attend individual showcases at those. From there, then a player may want to play on a showcase team so that the coaches can come see them play more.

    I will say I am somewhat biased against showcase, as I spent 3 years playing it and never got a single look, despite that I usually performed well. From what I have seen, most coaches will have their list when they show up and are just looking at those guys. If you do something incredible, then they'll pay attention, but for the most part, its hard to catch their eye. Basically, if they are coming to see a pitcher, they usually stay long enough to watch their guy pitch a couple innings and then leave.
