    Alex White is from Charlotte?

Seriously, I'm hoping to get our eastern friends posting their picks of whom they've seen.

I would have picked Landon, but I never got to see him play in HS---Horton should have made my list

Landon was an absolute beast in high school. I remember him coming out from behind the plate and going to the mound to close some games. One time when he did this the kid he was facing crowded the plate. Landon's first pitch was around 92 mph... inside. Ronnie, Landon's Dad was sitting right behind the screen and said "Man! That would hurt if it hit you". The kid backed up about 2 or 3 feet and Landon proceeded to throw 3 on the outside third of the plate and the batter headed back to the dugout with a look of relief on his face!

    best ive seen?

this is a great thread btw. In no particular order for me...

Chase Younts - from Central Davidson HS. i loved the way he played the game. Did all the little things right in imo.

Josh Horton - not much needed to be said. STUD

His tag team partner up the middle...

Hargrave - what a freaking middle infield with those two!

Hamilton - didnt see him play actually, just saw him at a Elon Camp.

I will give it an eastern flavor.....

.....since eastern hs baseball is about all I have seen outside of Greenville Rose's run through the playoffs in 2008. These are players that my eyes witnessed. There are a ton of great players that I never got to see play.

Alex White (D. H. Conley HS) - a Greenville legend who could have been an outstanding every day player/hitter if not for his pitching.

Lonnie Chisenhall and Drew Poulk (West Carteret HS) - Both excellent high players with Chisenhall on the fast track to a major league career.

Brian Goodwin (Rocky Mount HS) - He can hit, field and can run. I remember this past season he laid down a bunt down third base line. He hit it a little too hard, our 3rd baseball was charging in anticipating a bunt, he fielded it cleanly, made a strong throw to first and Goodwin was already five feet past first base when the throw arrived. He can fly down the line.

Ryan Stetson (Ardrey Kell) - Another speedster, line drive hitter with good pop. Always played 100%, all out effort and hustle. You could tell he loved to play the game. My son Paul pitched against him in the 2008 4A state championship game and left that game with the upmost respect for him. You know you are a good player when you earn an opponent's respect and admiration.

Pratt Maynard (South Granville HS) - Great stick, great arm. Started as a freshman for NC State. I am sure Coach May taught him everything he knows. :laugh1:

John Wooten and Walker Gourley (Eastern Wayne HS) - Just outstanding baseball players that I have seen play for the last 3 years. I look forward to watching them play for 3 or 4 more years at ECU. Nothing scarier as a dad than to watch John Wooten hit a screaming line drive off your son's forehead. :Woot_Emoticon:

Max Gagnon (Raleigh Sanderson HS) - Good hitter, excellent catcher with a cannon for an arm. When Rose played Sanderson in 2008 playoffs, we couldn't steal on him at all. He picked us off 1st, he picked us off 3rd. Heck he picked us off in the dugout. I think he even picked me off in the stands.

Chase McDonald (Greenville Rose HS) - Only current hs player in my top 10. He is a hitter with extraordinary power. I have seen him do unethical and inhuman things to a baseball with his bat. His only liability is his dad....:scared: .

Josh Hamilton is the best high school hitter I have ever seen. I think he barely is out of the ten yr. window. Trott Nixon was probably the 2nd best hs hitter I have seen.
