I got to talk with him a bit this summer-great kid. Hit a rope backside in the game @ UNC. I believe he had a couple of doubles that day. Shouldnt have a problem finding somewhere to play.

    Jon Taylor

I have watched this kid play in our conference since he was freshman at C.B. Aycock > He is one of the few to ever start at that program as a freshman. He is an excellent blocker behind the plate, the only problem I see is that he can play so many positions WELL that many coaches don't know that he is a catcher. He is excellent with the glove (C, 3rd, 1st and 2nd). He is the type of player a coach loves because he can play all those positions well. Don't be fooled he can play them all and well. He will start catcher for Aycock, and is clocked around 1.91-1.97. He will hold runners on first which will make it easier for the pitchers. He is a strong kid with power and very good back side hitter. This kid can play Division I.

    Travis Vaughan and Brandon Napier

Travis Vaughan - Catcher - Person High School
Travis is a heckuva Defensive Catcher with a strong arm and excellent skills behind the dish. He runs well and has really improved as a hitter. He is an excellent prospect as either a catcher or outfielder. He hits with good gap power. Travis travels with Freddy Suggs and the Anglers.

Brandon Napier - MIF/OF - Person High School
Brandon has really improved this summer as a player. HE plays summer ball for the VA Marlins. He is a very good player at OF and INF, with strong arm, good hands and feet and good speed.

Both of these guys really deserve a hard and serious look from college coaches. They are hard workers and play the game the right way.

If you have questions you can contact me.

Couple of big right hand pitchers in Alex Ledford and Carson Bryant from Asheville, Roberson. Hunter Bryant good hitter from Asheville, Erwin. Chris Jones, from Enka but I think he is 2012. Ledford and Bryant both around 6'3", mid 80's sometimes upper 80's. They both show a lot of potential and will develop into very good pitchers that will help a program.

I am new to this whole process - are we likely to see more commitments now that the signing deadline has passed? Seems like there is still a lot of talent out there.

Early signing period: November 10, 2010 thru November 17, 2010
Spring signing date: April 13, 2011

I guess you will see alot of verbal committments for the next 3 months until the early signing period. I know there's alot of action during the fall showcase season.

On average there is only 20% of college recruits that commit early. Most colleges want to watch their players they have targeted in the fall. From Nov to spring makes up the majority of players signed.

Even many of the highly recruited players will wait until they make their official visits in the fall.

RYAN YODER, C - CENTRAL CABARRUS

Ryan is a big kid (6-2, 200) with a big arm (1.94 pop time) and a bat to match (.380, 12 doubles in 2010). Had a big showing at the Battle of the Border showcase (opposite field HR in game 1). Definitely the arm strength and bat to be a player. Good kid with solid grades who loves the game. Has spent years working at and playing with CBC teams.

Hello "Braves", can you tell us a bit about recruitment "rules"?

For example, exactly what does it mean to a HS player and to the college when the player commits, say as a sophmore, like Mikal Hill? Are the commitmemts binding on either side?
Also, where would we find an overview of the official rules for a HS player to follow to avoid messing up? Also what are rules for the young man's HS coach? What about written correspondence, phone calls, visits, etc, etc?

    Thanks, in advance
