I know many players are getting ready to commit, but who are the players out there that haven't committed and deserve the opportunity. Many college coaches read this board so make a case for a player that deserves their attention.

AJ James outfielder for MT Pleasant High. Very good ball player with multiple skills. Can definitely play at the next level.

Blaine Lewis catcher for Mallard Creek High. Very athletic and a very good defensive and offensive hitting catcher.
I have notice that there are some very good catchers still out here. That is very surprising to me. I would think that schools at all levels would be looking for help at that position.

    The Berry Brothers

Thomas & Matthew Berry from Rocky Mount. They're lethal at the plate. Would make a college coach very happy somewhere.

Daniel Sondag - RHP (Green Hope). Has the tools and passion/desire to play at the next level. I'm sure he'll be playing somewhere... He's also quite the student!

David Daniels East Mecklenburg. Lead off for South Charlotte Panthers the last two seasons and was one of their top hitters for Ave. and top base stealers. Can really run and can truly play ANYWHERE on the field. Has had to play catcher most of the last two years for East but started at third for the Panthers. Would be a great center fielder at the next level. Has power and hits to all fields. Off the charts baseball IQ and work ethic. God fearing young man and 4.0+ student in East's rigorous IB Program. Already qualified for NCAA D1. All-Southwestern 4A Team. This kid also has "IT". It blows me away why somebody hasn't snatched him up. Someone will get a steal when they sign this young man.

    Butler 2011 - Ryan Hodge

Ryan Hodge, shortstop Butler. Solid as a rock, co-captain with effortless skills. Hits in 2-3 spot above average with high on base percentage. An asset to any dugout, Ryan is a coaches dream. He is a dependable, tough out with desire and tenacity. Off the charts GPA (.est 4.5 weighted) with excellent communication skills. I have watched him for 3 years and believe he is D-1 material. His stock is on the rise, and should be considered a steal as the season progresses. He has already turned in many a diamond gem for SW4A Butler Bulldogs this season helping Butler rise to it's 6-1 (3-0 conf.) start.

Okay, let me chime in on this young man. First of all he is a top tier player (ACC-SEC.) He has ++foot speed, ++ arm strength, good bat speed and high baseball IQ. Although he can play any position on the field effectively, he is a natural centerfielder. Gets good reads off the bat and catches everything inside the ballpark.

He's a natural leadoff hitter because he can work the counts and will make contact with strikes. But when he gets on the bases is when David is exciting. He understands baserunning---knows how to take the extra base; and a walk will soon turn into a double.

He's one of the most coachable kids you will ever meet and he's is only getting better. To be honest, I expected David to commit last year to a major college. How he is gone this long without a commitment boggles my mind. He has done everything right, from playing high caliber baseball with the SC Panthers and playing out of position the past two years for his HS team because they needed him to. He could have easily said no---and explained to the coach that this is his recruitment time and they want to see him in his natural position. But that's not his makeup. His response was, "Coach, if you need me to catch, I'll be glad to...."

That's David Daniels!!!! One of the best baseball players in Charlotte, unsigned, but was willing to do what's best for the team, not him.

There are a few players that I have seen that I would risk whatever little reputation that I may have and say, "this is a no brainer"...David Daniels is one of those players.

This is a no brainer. Insert this guy in your lineup on opening day, pencil him in the lead off position and sit back and watch him score some runs for the next 3-4 years. Is there a school that doesn't need that?
