Somebody needs to take a look at Brandon Reeves over at West Meck. He's in the running for Conference P.O.Y. and he's done almost everything for the Indians this year. He's versatile, he can play 3rd, SS, 2nd, 1st, Catch, and pitch like he's played there all season. I've heard he's gotten looks from Appalachian and ECU but as far as I know he hasn't received any offers.

West has a lot of young guys that are worth watching and even with their 19-6 record they still get over-looked. They're Conference Tourny Champions and they almost doubled their wins from last year. I know they had a soft schedule, but these guys can play with the best.

Thomas Newsome came in relief last night and picked up his 12th win of the year. He came in after Jacob Moore who was throwing about 84-85 and threw that changeup of his and it looked like it was never going to get to the plate. It's amazing that no one wants this kid.

You may want to recommend that he hurries up and gives John Ackley a call. The showcase at Lenoir Rhyne is this Saturday and the slots are closing fast.
This would be a perfect opportunity for him.

I know that Newsome has been invited to the Showcase at LR this weekend. I hope that he makes it. It will be well worth his time. The only other alternative to PrepStars Showcase (to play before college scouts) is to join a summer showcase team and that can be expensive and the good tournaments are not until July

Thomas was invited but I'm pretty sure he won't be pitching this weekend. The playoffs are way more important right now.

One of my picks would be the Short stop for South Caldwell Andrew Berry, good solid player .346 batting avg, golden glove winner in an earlier tournament this year, great attitude, hard worker, and a great academic record as well. Unfortunately when the scouts have gone to see him play the coach has benched him to play their other short stop who consistently makes errors. This kid should have played more this year.

One person to watch for next year from South Caldwell is their third baseman Daniel Coffey he has a good arm and .318 avg. He too has been pulled from time to time for no good reason to allow another player that isn't as good defensively to play.

They understand that, but Saturday he would probably throw a pen, anyway. It's always worked out with the HS coach. They would never risk his playoff experience.

He pitched two innings on Tuesday and 7 innings tonight. We lost, but tomorrow might be a day to let him rest, I'm not sure. Tonight was a little too emotional to talk about that kind of stuff.

    Congrats on a great season

SuperJon congrats on a great season. You guys should be proud of the year you had. By the way how did you like Cedar Ridge's field? We played them twice this year I thought they had one of the best playing surfaces we saw all year long. Also was it me or did the ball seem to really take off at their place? Seems to carry especially well there. Again congrats on a great season.

where do you get your info??????????????????????

You act as though the coaches go out in the stands before the game and see if scouts are there and then bench Berry so they can't see him....the fact if Berry has started a lot of games this year, and every game last season, he does have a great attitude, he is a great kid, but the fact is he has struggled at times this year, he has had good games and bad games, he played all last season and usually if you are being recruited it is after your jr. year, most srs. are signed before the start of their senoir season. Josh Sheehan has played shortstop at times this season, he too is a great kid, with a great attitude, and he too has had good games and bad. This position on this team is very competitive, live with it.....................and the same is true with Daniel Coffey, he has had a good season and played a lot, there have been times he has been pulled, but for a reason.. just like in the semi finals of the conference tournament where he committed 2 errors and struck-out twice,,HE said in the paper he played terrible and didn't blame the coach for pulling him,,,he came back the next night and hit the game winning home run..... what a mature young man.....why don't you grow up.........
