Southwestern 3A with Crest, Burns, Kings Mountain, Hickory, RS Central, St. Stephens and Fred T. Foard battling for only 2 playoff spots. Several good teams will stay at home come playoff time. In 2004, Burns was a hit away from knocking TC Roberson off in the first round. Crest did beat TC Roberson in the 3rd round to make it to the West 3A finals. Kings Mountain (#7) and Hickory (#10) are both ranked in the Impact preseason top 10 for 3A. Fred T. Foard is very young but loaded with pitching.

It changes every year. This year it's probably the Big East (4A). They have New Bern, JH Rose and DH Conley who are all ranked in the Top-10. Only 2 teams from that conference will make the playoffs.

don't know if it is the toughest but the cpc may be the most evenly matched.
only 2 playoff spots, that any team in the conference could achieve.

I agree with the CPC. It may not be the most talented but all teams could compete for the 2 spots..........

cpc is weak talent wise but very evenly matched any team could fill the 2 playoff spots. alot of very young talent especially from Davie ,North Davidson, and west forsyth.

I think the SW3A will be the toughest with Hickory having a talented team and Crest and Burns being solid as well. The other teams also have to potential to knock off the front runners when they bring their A game to the ballpark.

In the mountains, the Smokey Mtn 1A conference is always a very balanced and competitive conference. A lot of long time rivalries here and all teams play each other tough every time out.

    robert,
i will have to disagree with your statement that teh talent in the cpc is weak. it may not be quiet as strong as it has in the past......(who knows) but i would say it is far from being weak. there are many good ballplayers at each of the schools in the cpc.

catamount, I just don't think the senior talent is as good as in the past . alot of good sophs in this conference that will be playing varsity The freshmen and sophmore classes are awesome. No body really stands out on the senior front in this conference.
