transfer rule

Can someone give me direction on the rules transferring from a D1 school to a D2 or D3. My concern is elgibility, does the athlete have to sit out a year? ONe more also add rules governing NAIA schools, and transferring to another D1 school.

 

No penalty to transfer from D1 to D2/D3. Academic would be only caveat.
NAIA has even more player friendly rules...don't think it is an issue at all.

D1 can transfer to another D1 per NCAA rules one time free and school releases you... Coaches will sometimes try and block.
Could face Conference sanctions... ie, transferring from one conference school to another. Conferences usually have a 1 year waiting period between member schools

 

Thanks coach I read through the rules and got little lost with some of jargon but that is the way I interpted it.
