The point has always been, "who really cares"? We have beat it to death. I think most people agree that parents will and should do what they think is best for their kids within the rules that apply. It's not a big deal. When one door closes, another opens.

I always get a good laugh out of someone that attempts to take a shot at another while hiding behind a screen name and a computer screen. That takes real courage and character. See above.

A recent article in the Charlotte observer quoted a players parent that transerred and why....The names and school have been xed but this type of scenario is what CMS is having a hard time policing. Attend and play sports where you are zoned go to school!

"Quarterback XXXXX had been living in the school's attendance zone with his grandparents and played in all 11 regular-season games. But because his grandparents aren't legal guardians, XXXXX was deemed ineligible a week ago.
XXXXXXX didn't make that mistake with his son, XXXXX, a XXXXX(CMS school) junior who plans to try out for the school's powerhouse baseball team.
The teen attended XXXXX his first two years of high school, and his family still lives in Union County.
In June, at least two of XXXXX coaches at XXXXX resigned. During the summer, the XXXXX assigned custody of XXXXX to relatives who live near XXXXX High, home to one of the best baseball programs in the XXXX.
XXXXXX, who played four seasons with the Boston Red Sox, confirmed that baseball played a part in XXXXX change of schools."

    How do you spell Fooey?

Or maybe Hooey would be better. Hey watchtheball, you may have taken your eye off it.

What happens when CMMess changes the school you were zoned for to one that does NOT meet your minimum expectations? In the spirit of your post maybe I should XXX out the name of the school in the south Mecklenburg county area so I don't offend anyone.

Your position doesn't work for me. They changed my zone!!! From the really good school on Hwy 51 (with the great baseball coach) to one that I do not want my son to attend, period!

In your eyes, does my situation qualify for special consideration?

    I agree Braves

aguyyouknow why in the world would you want to do what you feel is best for your child? You know you have to get the approval of everyother parent in the state before you can do that.

If you want to step over the rules and manipulate the system to get your kid a better chance and knock out the positions of players whose families are obeying the rules and teachng their kids honesty and rising to the challenge then you need to go some where else. Good luck when your kid calles you crying from work in 5 years because he doesnt like his job and wants you to get him new one.And whats next if he doesnt become the powerhouse you are expecting? Move on to another school?
