SC Flames was tough. Thrived off the double plays. Second pitcher was as good as the first. Be a great HS team to play during season for those wanting a great non-conference game.
Excited about the Early Bird in two weeks. Get to see some of the premier NC teams on that Friday play. First time for me to see some of these ladies play. :woohoo:

2005 WFC NC State Champ. in Raleigh

Congrats go out to the Carolina Cobras 14u for taking 1st place in the WFC 14u "A" class State Champ. held in Raleigh this past weekend. The Cobras went 6-0,defeating some of the top teams from the Eastern part of the state.Great job ladies & coaches, only the Cobras championship came with a heavy price. Our SS Allison "CLUTCH" Starnes broke her ankle on a play at home, in the champ game. She will be greatly missed,as she is a quiet "Star" on the Cobras team. "Big Al we'll miss ya a bunch out there, but get everything healed up as it should, that is more important! Go Cobras !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :trophy:

AAU 14U "A" DIV. STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

    1st...... Queen City Rockers

    2nd...... NC Dominators

    3rd...... Comets Purple

    4th...... Lady Blues

The Dominators took the Rockers to the "If" game with a 2 -1 win in the Championship round. After playing all day Sunday the Dominators played great ball. In the second game the Rocker bats came alive for a 5-0 victory.
The "A" div. teams played some of the best ball I have seen so far this year, close, hard fought games all weekend.
The tournament was well run with good umpiers. the grounds crew even got the fields playable in record time after a heavy (but thankfully short) rain storm put the field under water in the second inning of the first championship game. Thanks to the AAU staff and workers for a well run and enjoyable tournament.
