    Has anyone else noticed the growing trend of softball players from this area not playing the summer of their senior year? It seems like more and more each year are not playing. Anybody else noticing the same trend?

    dont see it happening in our conference (big south) but i wouldnt doubt it happening......

    Do you mean after graduating?


    If so and the kid plans to play college ball not playing at all is a terrible idea. If the kid's a position player it means they will arrive on campus have gone a year not seeing good pitching (there's not much in HS ball). This a formula for a bad start. If the kid's a pitcher it's a bit different but she should still play some to stay sharp but no need to throw every weekend.
