Trey Holmes- Region X POY

    Former East Rowan first baseman Trey Holmes, now at Pitt Community College, was named player of the year in the Region X Div. I baseball conference. He was also selected as the defensive player of the year. Congratulations to Trey! He's had a great year at the plate, and has committed no errors to this point. In the championship game of the Region X conference tournament, he was 5-5 going into his last at-bat. When he was put away on strikes, the opposing USC-Sumter crowd let out a raucous, but friendly cheer acknowledging a job well done. From his leadoff spot, he is batting .372 with 37 rbi, 11 hr, 3 3b, 15 2b, and 7 stolen bases.
