The 18U Carolina Hurricanes earned the right to participate in the Triple Crown Sports 18U Eastern Regionals by winning the Triple Crown Sports Augusta Summer Classic in Augusta, GA, earlier this summer. The 18U Carolina Hurricanes now advance on to the Triple Crown Sports Fall Nationals in St. Augustine, FL., on 10/24-26, 2003.

Teams from all over the eastern seaboard participated in this event. The final top 6 teams were Carolina Hurricanes (Charlotte, NC); Ware Co. Lugnuts (Waycross, GA), Triple Crown Monarchs (Stamford, CT), Sporting Edge Red Sox (Springfield, MA), Long Island Tides (Port Jeff Station, NY), and Danbury Dawgs (Danbury, CT).

Congratulations to the Hurricanes for going undefeated in their Triple Crown Eastern Regional tournament. I also hear that a special congrats should go out to Jaryd Keesee and Andrew Huffstetler for both hitting grand slams during the tournament series.
