It's less than 10 days to the official start of the season. I know some of you have been working extra hard on the sandbagging exercises. So here is some mental material. Let's hope Mudcat doesn't pull a brain muscle <g>.

Out of the last 26 State Championship tournaments which school has made it the most times into the State Championship Tournament? Include them all the 1A, 2A, 3A and 4A schools. And if a school made it into the State's 4 times as a 2A school and then again 16 times as a 3A school that would count as 20 times out of the last 26 for this contest.

Making it to the State Championship Tournament is one thing, but continually winning is another.

How many schools have been in the State Championship Tournament 21 or more of the 26, and have a winning percentage over .746, and who are they?

As in Cherryville? Not sure I understand the question or what you mean by "playoff tournaments" tho?

I took a nap and revised the wording - hope it makes more sense. 2 questions being asked and Cherryville is part of an answer, but you have to get it all.

This school set the NCHS record with the most hits in a season with 311. It occurred in 2004. Which school set this mark?

You might be right. But the first question is who made it into the State Tournament the most often (In other words you got to play at least one game in it before being knocked out, or winning it all).

Now the object is to win it all obviously. Not to just make it in. Cherryville has been in the tournament 21 times and their won-loss percentage is .773.

Which team has been in 22 times and has a won-loss percentage of .746?

All remarkable feats. Cherryville is the more known probably because of their storied Legion teams.

Rose currently in the Coastal Conference has played well enough over the years to have been in the State Playoffs 24 out of 26 times. Their won-loss percentage is .685:229031_ha :229031_ha

Cherryville as the Oriole picked earlier has been in the State Playoff Tournament 21 times and has a won-loss percentage of.773, lesser known Hayesville has been in 22 times and has a won-loss percentage of .746.
