Yeah, the post are mostly for fun and DO stir up some friendly debate time to time...lol So... are teams going to start posting tryout dates soon... I've visited some team/org websites and most don't have anything posted... in fact, many don't have contact info on them for coaches, which I though was strange... Makes it hard for someone like us to find a team... I got on the NSA and ASA websites and looked at what teams did at NSA and ASA state tournament... that was kind of my starting point for searching for teams in and around the area...

 

Carolina Lookouts 18U

The Carolina Lookouts 18u is looking to add some dedicated, talented players to our roster. We primarily play Showcase Tournaments. We will travel this fall for sure from South Carolina to Virginia. We also already have scheduled a round robin with 3 college teams in September and another in the works.
Other tournaments are under consideration in other areas and will be chosen based on interest and needs from players. We are based out of Raleigh, NC, but have practice sites east of I-95 also for player convenience. We especially have a need for a couple of slappers with speed. Our next Showcase tournament is in August. If interested, please call Greg Bissette at 252-883-0430.

Tryouts

The Foothills Heat 18U will be holding an open tryout August 28, 2011 3:00pm at Saint Stephens High School in Hickory NC. We are looking to add to the roster and fill the spots of players going off to LR and Greensboro College. The positions we would like to fill or compliment are middle infield, outfield and pitcher. We play a competitive local NC & SC ASA sanctioned schedule including most Cardinal Tournaments, NC ASA State, South Atlantic Fall Exposure and more. We have experience in the recruiting process and believe we offer value to each and every player. We are a positive team who believes that education is always first and softball should always be fun.

Lady Blues Elite 18U (Moni)

The Lady Blues Elite 18U team, coached by Moni Armendarez (3 Time NCAA D1 All American, and former WPSL standout) is seeking 3 - 4 players for the fall of 2011/summer of 2012. The need is due to 3 of our players who are aging out and have earned athletic scholarships to play @ the D1 level. The Lady Blues Elite play a very competitive schedule that showcases the talents of our players to college coaches at the highest level. We have attended the prestigious Independence Day Tournament in Boulder, CO. for the past 5 consecutive years, and have placed as high as 7th (twice) and 9th at the ASA 18U Nationals as well. The Lady Blues have previously won the Dynamites Classic, Hot Times, and NC ASA State Championships.

Lady Blues Elite schedule for the fall will include: Virginia Legends Showcase (9/25-27), GMAC Furman Paladin Showcase (9/30-10/2), Chattanooga Fall Exposure (10/28-30) and WFC Early Signing Showcase (11/11-13). In addition, we will play some one day events @ NCAA DII schools that are yet TBD.

We are seeking 2013, 2014 or 2015 players only. Positions needed include pitcher(s), outfield, 3B/1B, ss/utility. Players who can play mulitple positions are a definite plus.
