Tonight, the Cary Post 67 Senior American Legion team will host the Triangle Area Senior Babe Ruth All-Star team at Cary High School.

For Post 67, it's a chance to stay in form while sitting on a first round bye in the Area I Legion Playoffs.

For the Triangle All-Stars, it's a chance to get together for the first time as a team leading into the Senior Babe Ruth State Tournament beginning Thursday in Goldsboro.

Should be a fun, friendly atmosphere as the two go head to head.

Post 67 hasn't skipped a beat. Looked good winning 10-3.

The Triangle Babe Ruth All-Stars had just as many hits (I think both teams had 10 hits) but were a little shaky on defense which was expected the first night the team got together.

Thanks to Coach Woodall and Coach Council of Post 67 for setting this one up.

When I saw the title of this thread, I thought this was going to be another "Legion vs. Showcase" discussion.:sunny:

    AHHHHHHHHH... LEGION VS SHOWCASE....

After really thinking about this one this is what comes to mind for me.

    1. The key here is the opportunity to play and get quality coaching. Both offer this if you do your homework.
    2. The coast of travel and hotel expenses can get expensive. Shoot I have known parents that spend more money travelling than they would have to go to college... so for some, Legion ball would be a good choice....
    3. Both have advantages and disadvantages, but the key is getting better as a player and exposure. If you are good enough, the scouts will find you/hear about you...

WOrk hard, improve your skills.. and most importantly, play every game like it is your last.... you never know when somebody is watching.
