We are very excited to inform you that Tyler Byrnes (2012 CBC
O's/Olympic H.S.) has verbally committed to Catawba College. After
several years of commitment to the ECP Program, Tyler developed into a
standout position player and pitcher. He is a true competitor whose
phenomenal work ethic and determination on the field, as well as the
classroom, has earned him the opportunity to join Coach Gantt and the
    Indians Baseball Program.

We are very proud of Tyler's accomplishments and his decision to
continue his education and baseball career at Catawba College.
Congratulations to Tyler and his parents, Dan and Tammy, and Coach
    Gantt and his staff.

    Great News

I've gotten to know Tyler over the past few years, playing in the same conference as Olympic. He is definitely a standout pitcher and will continue that at the next level. I am looking forward to playing Byrnes in college and hopefully he won't make me look too bad at the plate... Congrats big man and wish you the best of luck.

I saw Tyler pitch the other night vs. Catholic. He was very impressive. In previous years, you could tell that Tyler had a wonderful arm -- but that his control was not where it should be. On Tuesday, Tyler had good velocity (around 85), but it was his exceptional control -- particularly his ability to work the outside part of the plate --that stood out. He's also playing for a very good and underrated Olympic team. Keep an eye on these guys during the playoffs -- they could sneak up on alot of teams! Congratulations to Tyler! Catawba is an excellent baseball program.
