What a long and tough day for the Lady Tiger Fans. First I would like to say great job to Coach Hayes and the ladies. This was a very young team and the future is bright as Riverside Knights. (Game 1: 4 9th grade, 3 soph. starters) (Game 2; Finished with 5 9th graders) In the first game vs Midway the throw was slightly up the line, the first baseman made a swipe, the funny thing is she was still able to stay on a bag. It was a very weird looking play and I think the 1st base umpire just frooze up. The next question would be why the home plate umpire "did not see it". In the game two vs Swain, I'm really not sure how it was missed. On the throw to the plate the home plate man is in postion and calls here safe. After time is called the Swain coach comes out and argues. They go to the third base umpire and after talking she is called out. The funny thing here is the third base umpire had a runner coming to third and he is behind the bag. How does he see the tag at the plate? Add in the $5 to park and the two man concession stands, what a long day. Good luck to all teams today Think Im going to baseball, just do not want to see the creek today.

It could have if the 3rd ump was watching to see if Edwards made the tag.

Just watched video replay, Edwards back foot stayed on bag. Blue seems to be watching the tag. It was a very weird looking play but it was missed. On the three umpire thoughts, the third guy here has no way to help. All the help if they first base guy misses has to come from home. I'm not a big fan of three umpire crews. These umpires work two man crews all year. Eastern regional baseball series two years ago, I watched as a booking agent stood by the fence and yelled at his crew how to rotate for seven innings. Maybe crews of four but I know you get into money.
