I was not going to say anything but I can't stand it no more!!!!!!!!! Where do they get some of these umpires. I thought that the call during the KM vs Crest game (the interferense call) was the worst call I have ever seen, But NOOOOOOOOOO. The out/safe call during the KM/Enka game was just the worst call ever made!!!!!! Before the game I knew that the game was going to get ugly because the plate umpire left his vehicle 3 times and headed to the field only to return to his car because he must have forgot something. Do I hear Alzheimers (sp?). Something needs to be done about some of these people that are calling games. I know that Wal-Mart needs some good people greaters !!!!!!!!

miss all the confusion he had but i have seen him call games before and he just cant keep up with the action that happens in the Quality games.

on the other hand the guy in the field is sharp but rarely calls or i can say i have never witness him calling, behind the plate. Go figure.

I agree...... some type of evaluation/screening is the responsiblilities of these booking agents and alot of communication with AD/Coaches is needed.

no umpires name Please...............but UMPIRES are free game :D

Just curious if anyone has ever heard a fan say……………… we would not have won the game, had it not been for the bad call the plate umpire made?

Comet, I don't believe I have ever heard that one made before....
What would have been better if to have 3 umpires like I saw at the Central/Reynolds game....Hard to make a safe/out call at first from left field...I can live with the two umps during the season but come playoffs and especially third round which decides if you go on to Raleigh or stay home is a different story. Thanks for the nice PM comet...

I have said in the past that the umpire calls have cost my team the game, but I feel I can say that because I have umpired before & will probably do it again when my DD is finished playing. I just can't stand it when fans talk junk about umpires because 95% if not more have never called a game & just don't know just how fast the game is!!!!!

CanAmMan, I agree with you on your last post, I don't care for the umpire bashing either. For most it is the popular thing to do. I have called baseball in the past and will probably start back with fastpitch next yr. Even good umpires make mistakes just like coaches and players do, that being said, certain umpires bring it on themselves by being out of position and not anticipating. The umpire not being in a position to make a call is the thing that bothers me the most. I can tolerate the different strike zones as long as they mix in a little consistency. For the most part I have only saw a few this yr who did'nt seem to have a clue out there. Hopefully only the best will be in Raleigh but I'm sure there will be a few exceptions.

I couldn't make the Friday game and that was probably a good thing. That call of out/safe was described by some veteran watchers as probably the worst ever and that would have sent me over the edge. I sure hope Raleigh will be different. ???????
