Umpiring

    Ok, I am thinking about getting into umpiring. My question is if I am wanting to do high school, tournament ball what do I need to do and who do I need to contact?

    ya aint built right for our conference - know what i mean????? lol - you need to find a booking agent. the agent in our area is candy imogene - heck, dont know if i spelled it right. if you're serious, i'll find her number. but all highschool games are contracted through a booking agent, and from the looks our umpiring, no training is necessary. lol

    If I was to get certified in SC for ASA do you also have to get certified in NC.

    Ernie is a good one to get in touch with. Normally, you would have to sanction in each state, but that really depends on the particular tournament that you would work and just how "money hungry" they are. In the Charlotte area, Bill Freeman runs ALL games played at any level of school ball. Let me know your area and I can point you in the right direction. Also, decide which summer ball associations you want to call. Now there are so many different ones it's laughable.
