Un-professional Umpire

That was the game against us,and yes the ump was very unrully in his actions.....he needs temper management...I think a coach should be able to approach an umpire civilly, and Jerry tried to approach him with the right attitude, but he said "Go Over And Sit Down", very hatefully !!!!!! I'm with Brit's mom on this one......

Yes it was. I was trying to stay away from who was who but that's ok. Those of us that were there saw and heard what happened. Thanks for the support.....by the way I wish I could say how well our girls played that game but I was so upset that I don't remember much of it. Thanks for the support!

 

It was actually a great ball game...Brit pitched real well..she has always been a sweet kid always real respectable................GURU

You will never find a better sportsman than jerry holt. He coaches with us for LB's white team also. He has to calm me down (go figure) sometimes....Sorry that some folks ruin a really great weekend cause he doesn't like what he is doing (the ump)....I don't get it...but hey, we had good ones at Hargett, for the most part. Only remember a couple of bogus balls/strikes.

One I protested (nicely) was a change that came across the kids facemask then dropped due to lack of speed on a 3-2 pitch.....not even close, but I reminded him that the kids only get 2-3 at bats a game and it isn't fair for them to take the stick out of their hands. Also reminded him that we teach them not to swing at garbage like that....

oh well, still a K and she had to sit....not fair though

Thank you Brian! She was pretty upset that the ump told our catcher that he wasn't going to give her anything after what had just happened. That's so un-fair to her and the team. I know it didn't matter since it was showcase but what if it was for a championship game? That could have cost us (any team) the game.

 

I agree, but Brit will go far because she works hard,and has a great attitude. I saw her up in Harrisburg I guess about a year ago working in the pitching lanes...she was working hard,and not complaining when dad kept saying follow through,follow through...I had to chuckle, because it is every father / daughter relationship that is special...Daddy's little girl has now grown up...life comes at you fast !!!

I love that commercial where the dad and son are up on a hill top and the dad is pushing the little boy on a swing from a tree and the boy is just laughing....and then the next take is the swing coming back towards the dad with this grown boy on it and it hits the dad and sends him flying and falling. I think it's a credit card commercial and it says "life comes at you fast".

Does it ever!!! It seems like yesterday she was in kindergarten and now she will be graduating and starting college. It is unbelievable how time flys. Her dad and I have been talking about what in the world are we going to do when softball is done? I guess we'll just wonder from field to field and watch other peoples daughters play. I go through withdrawals in December and January (the only months she isn't playing) as it is. You know what I'm talking about!
