    There is a nice article on the UNC Charlotte Baseball program on Baseball America's website. It has been on the front page for several days. Good exposure for a rising program.

    New Stadium

    Nice article in Baseball America. If you go to the baseball page on www.charlotte49ers.com there is a section titled baseball cribs which is a tour by Coach Hibbs of the new stadium. Not a bad place to watch a game. They start their season at home this weekend.

    Loss to Presby???

    The Niners lost to Presbyterian College, a first year D1 team that went something like 16-36 and 19-38 the past two seasons in the D2 South Atlantic Conference??

    Say what you want but Charlotte is playing well. As for Presby they have been playing good ball just ask South Carolina who beat them 2-1 in ten innings. Instead of questioning Charlotte maybe you should be giving props to Presby!

    Give Presby some respect

    Presby is playing well, as is Charlotte. Give Presby the respect they deserve. Hey, that is why the game is played on the field- Anything can happen.
    I suggest you go out & watch these guys (Charlotte) play. They are playing good all around baseball, in a beautiful stadium. They have scored double figures in 8 of their 12 games, and are playing stellar defense.
    It is no surprise they are receiving votes in the top 25.

    Congrats to Chris Taylor

    Chris Taylor from Mt Pleasant was named the Atlantic 10 Player of the week for the second time this year. The Charlotte 49er is currently leading the team with a 479 average. The niners will take on Radford tonight and Wake Forest tomorrow night. Both are home and start at 6:00 PM

    I'm afraid that falls into the category of "faint praise." Almost everyone seems capable of beating Wake this season, so far.

    Chris Taylor

    I've had the privledge of getting to know Chris several years ago. He is a fine person that has grown into a fine
    man. I am very proud of Chris and wish him the best this year.
    Now for the baseball side of Chris Taylor:
    He is tearing the cover off the ball, I'll post the web site so you can go and see for yourself.
    I know he is getting some looks from pro teams and I guess all I can add is that any team that would pick
    Chris would immediately become better!

    Charlotte now 23-5 with the Heels coming up on 4/16.
