The Braves are sitting at 5-0 as their offense has taken off with a bang. Not too many over the fence but plenty of solid situational hitting and sprinkle in a few timely doubles to clear the bases.

There is an awesome group of freshman that are getting PT and making contributions; Victor Zecca, Drew Cole, Ben Schmucker, Connor Pratt, Zade Denton, Jordan DeLoatch (named a freshman to watch), Dalton Knight, Jordan Edgerton and Brandon Estrain.

Two pre-season All-Americans lead the pitching staff in starter Brad Isom and closer Braxton Lewis. OF Josh Haley is also on many pre-season All-American lists.

The bad news is they play in the always tough Peach Belt Conference and plenty of those teams are ranked in the top 30. You have to beat the best to be the best.

Come on down to Pembroke to check out the new scoreboard and watch the Braves in action.

Saw where Brantley Hattrich was pitcher of the week for his outing vs Anderson. He should be also one to watch. Any news on the two Butler HS products, McWhirter and McMahon??

Brantley - well deserved honor. The guy flat out brings the heat and mixes up his pitches nicely. He appears to be our set up guy for our closer. You are correct he pitched us out of a jam vs Anderson last Sunday. My son caught and I swear I don't see how our catchers catch that stuff without burning their hand!

Your two guys; Patrick McMahon (soph) and McWhirter (Fresh). Patrick pitched three scoreless innings vs Chowan earlier this week and struckout three with no walks. Needless to say his season ERA is 0.00. Brandon has not yet pitched.

Great to hear about those three from Matthews, NC. I've had the pleasure of watching them for many years. Happy to hear they are successful, they are all fine young men. Keep the updates coming and Good Luck!
