anybody going to check out the Heels tomorrow in Greensboro. Me and a few of the kids are going. Figure it will be a good chance to see some good college ball. After seeing them play in the CWS title game two years in a row looking forward to seeing them live.

They are a fun team to watch. If you get a chance to meet Chad Flack, Kyle Shelton or Dustin Ackley's dad, please tell them hello for me. In fact, I have a better idea that you are more suited for. Give their wives a kiss on their cheek from me. They are much prettier than the dads.

good ball game for the Heels tonight. 14-3 winners. Tim Fedroff was the man tonight - hitting for the cycle going 4-4. Hit a monster 2 run homer off the parking deck in right field. His last hit was an infield single - it was a great play to get the cycle. Looked like a routine shot to second, fielded clean but deep and he was out of the box like a rocket beating the throw. Great hustle.

Kyle Shelton had a good game too - 3-6 with four RBIs. Double, 2 run HR. Just a triple shy of another cycle. FR Patrick Johnson from Hickory got the win - only 2 hits in five innings of work, but those hits with 6 walks and two sac flys gave up the three runs. The walks were as much on the ump and his weird strike zone as anything. A lot of balls all night looked like good strikes. I was sitting next to his parents - great folks - most of the night. They were happy he got the win but not too happy with the ump.

And Braves - Mrs. Johnson is another one of those pretty Carolina moms. But if Mr. Johnson is reading this I want him to know it was Braves that was talking about kissing them - not me. Wossa is always the gentleman.:whistling:

According to the guys in the broadcast booth (which includes access to John Martin, UNC's Assistant Sports Information Director for baseball), Tim Fedroff's "cycle" could be UNC's first ever. If there's been one, it's never made it into the record book.

Quite an accomplishment! Way to go, Tim!

P.S. For those of you who enjoy following college baseball generally, there's an excellent series coming up this weekend between #1 Miami and #2 Florida State! Those of us who pull for Carolina will have our Seminole headdresses on and flaming spears in hand since we sit #2 to Miami in the ACC's Coastal Division!
