Good riddance. Only problem is it took too long. Great facilities and two good assistants and recruits even talk about what a a-- he is. Good luck to UNCG in the future! I would say that if anyone has a kid that's a really good player and is unsigned still, send a resume to the baseball office. 7 graduated and others leaving the school because of the coach. Great opportunity!

Agreed. If the AD has a competitive compensation plan in place for the entire coaching staff and the allotment of 11.7 scholarships is fully funded, she has an opportunity to bring in a very capable set of coaches.

The only thing surprising is the length of time it took. If anyone has strong connections with the program and has the ear of the AD, I have a qualified candidate that will make UNCG a top 25 team every year....and he''s motivated to do just that.

Although he has had other opportunities, the only one that he has interest in is the UNCG position....go figure!!!

My son played there for 4 years, started and played well. Good student, not a party guy and never once received positive reinforcement from that clown. He had one young man come in, play sparingly for 1 year and told him at the end of season interviews not to come back and that he wasn't a D-1 player (told that to all his players). The boy was on his way back to Ohio and called his summer team coach to find out where to meet with them and the coach told the boy that Gaski had called him and told him that the boy was giving up baseball and to give his slot to somebody else. Talk about kicking a kid when he's down. On Senior day, ALL the parents of seniors stood around in a pack and not one had anything positive to say about Gaski or their kid's experience. Yea, I guess transferring was possible, but it's not the thought that goes thru a boys head and they feel their options are limited. If I have a son who is looking to play in college very soon, look to see what the transfer rate or how many kids get cut from one year to the next. Also check to see the Asst. Coach turnover. Head Coach with an ego and micromanaging issues runs off the quality assistants.

Lastly, it got so bad that the kids went to the Asst. AD mid-season to air their grievances about the conduct and issues with Gaski. 17 went to the meeting and all but 3 signed a petition. Then in the final game...meant nothing to UNCG due to the fact they weren't going to the SoCon tournament...Gaski pulls a senior in the 7th inning. His reasoning, he went 0-2, so he should come out. Down 9-2 with nothing on the line. The players let him know what they thought and then all the players walked out of the dugout and stood on the runway that goes to the bullpens. For the 7th, 8th and 9th inning, noone went in the dugout unless it was one person grabbing their bat to hit. The man had totally lost it! Those of you reading this that played there or for him know what I'm talking about. The Asst. Coaches, Athas and Santos are good people and I think they will do fine, but even they thought the man was a fool!

That story has been repeated many times over the last 7-8 years. I actually felt sorry for the kids.

They had a chance to hire Rick Rembielak before he went to Akron! Great coach with great attitude toward the players! Wanted to stay around here after he lost his job at Wake!

Funny thing about Coach Rembielak...my son was struggling during the Fall of 2010 with his hitting and had to get some hitting on the QT. Coach R. worked with him in private and kept it totally confidential cause he knew Gaski would FREAK out! Nice man and did the lessons totally for free. Just wanted to see him succeed knowing what he was facing with the situation at UNCG. Class man!

Well there are some good names applying, but I hope I can get the ear of the decision makers.
