I agree with you 100% - there are many more that we are missing than we are highlighting. I personally would love to see many, many more good players featured on here.

We had some good posts featuring players in the pre-season and it helped introduce people to players they had not seen. Of course you get a certain level of self promotion  and son promotion :barf:, but overall there has been some great stuff posted introducing all the readers to a lot of high quality high school baseball players. Fortunately some of the most frequent posters rarely mention their own sons on the board, even though there are some top players among them.

If all of us post what we observe and call it the way we see it -- positives that is, about players we observe but don't share a home with, we will have a wealth of information about North Carolina high school baseball players. I don't know how that can be a bad thing.

I would like to recognize J.J.Rollins from Myers Park. What an awesome contribution he has made to a great season, not only as a player but as a person! Couldn't be doing it without you J.J.!!!

An unsung hero from the Piedmont area is Southwest Guilford #1 Pitcher, Tony Sturtzel.

In his first year as a starter for the Cowboys, he has proven himself as one of the area's elite, taking the ball in every big game for the Cowboys.

He has compiled a record of 5-2 thus far this season, with the 2 losses coming in an 8 inning heartbreaker to Glenn and to Northeast Guilford in which he allowed only 1 earned run. He ERA is microscopic under 2.00, which is outstanding considering the toughness of the PTC.

He has proven himself as a captain along with Chris Norwood, and he is one of the reasons that Southwest has played as well as they have this year!

No better example, then his complete game 4 hit shut out gem he threw last night against Rockingham that basically clinched Southwest's playoff bid.

Look no further than Rob Wilson of Myers Park. Hard work and desire have paid off in a great season for Rob and his teammates. Good luck at Davidson, Rob.

It takes nine to play the game! The shining star or the dimwit, can be the difference in a winning or losing season, precipitated on wether or not they play as a team. At the risk of sounding corny THERE'S NO "I" IN TEAM!:p
