I tell you what, and I know I may be a bit biased... but I watched Cary Post 67 (Area 1 West) take some BP today. They looked darn good.

Matt Holt's back from UNCW, Cory Harrilchak back from Surry, Phillip Townsend (tough lefty who went to NCSU but didn't play baseball) is back, Michael Rooney (unsigned SR) and Bryan Booth (headin to UNCW) are playing.

On paper they look very good.

Another team to keep an eye on is Garner. They're getting a few Fuquay/Harnett County kids this summer since the respective programs aren't fielding legion teams anymore. Garner+Fuquay kids could be a handfull by themselves, but add in some East Wake and Western Harnett/Harnett Central kids? Sounds good to me. I'll hopefully get more on their roster soon.

Burlington at Kannapolis was rained out tonight (Sat.5/20). Will be made up Wednesday May 24 at Kannapolis.

Next game for 501 is Tuesday May 23 at home against Concord in league opener for both teams.

    wow!! Garner

that's interesting. Garner should be loaded to the gils. Is Moe Barbour still the head coach at Garner?

Yes. He's still the coach there and will be until he decides to call it quits.

Nick will be playing for the Southern Ohio Copperheads in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League this summer. Thanks for asking.

Where is Tyler playing this summer? He had a great year at Belmont Abbey. I see his body was a ball magnet in college just like it was in high school! Twenty-Two HBP's! Is there any part of his body that's not black and blue?

Ty is playing for the Kernersville Bulldogs in the Carolina/Virginia Collegiate League. As for bean balls, there were 3 kids in D2 who got hit more than him. He gets his looks from me & his brains from his Mom.

Sorry to hear Nick won't be playing Legion. Could make Winston a national contender. By the way, we are still enjoying your pictures from last summer. Many thanks.

BBQ is on me, boys. I'm partial to Speedy's, but I'm 'whole hog in' on buying. I applied for a 2nd mortgage this afternoon.

Legion season is my favorite. Lexington Post 8 opens tonight. Can't wait to light another cigar!

Jim Lippard has really been sick this winter, but he's on the mend & heading in the right direction. I expect he'll be at Holt Moffit tonight.

    Kernersville Bulldogs

Kernersville pulled out of the Southern Collegiate League last summer. Have they joined a new league?
