Update on Ray

After struggling with whether to post anything on here, I have pretty much decided the word's out (He will kill me when he finds out because he is such a private person) but we, believing in the power of prayer, ask for your continued prayers for Ray, Sharyn and their kids, Monica and Erin. They are in a very trying time in their lives.
Ray has been in CA where we had to leave him over a month ago.
Over this past weekend, the doctors installed a "trach' and a feeding tube to be able to wean him off sedation and wake him back up. He has been sedated for over a month and on a ventilator. They still do not know 100% what's happened but they do know he struggles to breathe on his own for any length of time. They have deterimined that think his heart is not pumping enough blood to keep his lungs cleared out.
It will be a lengthy recovery period so we ask that you lift his name up as often as you can. Hopefully he will be back with us soon.

 

Yep, he is probably gonna kill ya Rick, but this is something that can do nothing but good. You can never have too many prayers.
Ray is a good man and has always had a kind word for my kids and us. Morgan and Ashley were devistated when they heard the news, as i'm sure alot of young ladies are. There is no way to judge the impact one man has had on a sport or a community.

If you get in trouble for getting the softball community together for prayers, then so be it. I will stick up for you.

Ray and family...you and your family are in my prayers. Continue to stay strong and know that the softball family that you started many years ago is here in NC praying for your recovery.

Rick -

I know it was a very hard decision for you to post this, but I am simultaneously proud of you for doing so, and sincerely thank you. Some in the community have known for many weeks now about Ray, and it has been difficult for us not to say anything, here or anywhere. The prayers that Ray will receive from all those who pass through here will be uplifting and powerful.

My family continues to pray for Ray, his girls and his wife. I hope each and every person here will lift Ray and his family up in prayer. He is a remarkable man who has touched so very many lives. Our world is all the better with him, and people like him in it.

Prayers and admiration

I patterned most everything the Blues did after Ray's Cardinal team when I started the Lady Blues 14U team. It was a good formula that has worked for years. I have a great deal of admiration for Ray and his lovely wife! God will watch after the ones that follow. Ray and Sharyn are good examples for us all.

 

I don't know Ray since I am new to North Carolina, but I will also pray.
