South Meck ,Indy ,North Meck , East Meck and Hopewell all had great seasons this year. Each of these teams had seniors that ended great careers with a loss. Half of the teams that played on Tuesday lost. Only ONE team will end the season with a win. Lets give a Big THANK YOU to all the Coaches and Players for giving the Charlotte area fans the thrill of watching what a lot of people consider the Best Baseball in the State. Hats off to a job well done.

    North Meck Injured Player

Can anyone tell us how the leftfielder is who was injured in the game last night against AC Reynolds? We Rockets have been concerned about him and how he is doing. Any info would be appreciated....

My take on that game was that Riverside was probably a better team man for man and certainly was better defensively. However, they faced a tough pitcher (Smalling) and didn't execute very well. I remember at least three (possibly four) failed bunt attempts and a baserunning error. We all know you can't afford to give away outs when your facing quality pitching. Tough loss for a good Riverside team with a lot of classy seniors.

Good luck to Broughton against a HOT Cary team Friday.

I will say I was impressed the way Broughton swung the bats against Justin Duncan who has been pretty much lights out this year. Especially Smalling who was knocked down with a high and tight fastball, then stepped back in and laced a hard slider in the gap for an rbi 2B on the next pitch.

    Injured Player

The NM player you are asking about is Blake Ewart. Blake is doing fine. He had a slight concussion. He caught a knee underneath the right eye, causing some swelling. His CT scan should no damage to the face, but he had a severe headache.

The good news is that Blake returned to class Wednesday morning about 11:00am proud of his battle scars.

Although North came out on the short end Tuesday night, we would like to thank you folks for your hospitality and concerns for Blake. You have beautiful facilities and great players, coaches & fans.
I hate I missed that last few innings of the game.

Special thanks to all the ACR coaches and EMT personnel that took care of Blake during those scarey moments. His parents were greatly appreciative.

Good Luck to the ACR Rockets!

    Blake Ewert

That's great news about Blake - we were very concerned and so many "tales" were going around about his condition. So glad that he was able to get on back to school and that there were no serious injuries.

Thanks for the compliments and the good luck wishes - N Meck was a good team and played well under the circumstances - kept us on our toes and gave us a good challenge.

Give Blake the best from the Rockets and maybe we'll see each other again next year.
