USA Rolls France. Sweeps Double Header..

Team USA rolled through France this afternoon in two 3 inning mercys. Haley Suitt spun a 1 hit, 6 strikeout shutout as Team USA won 21-0 after 3 innings played.
Meagan Knight (Greensboro College), Jenny Sorensen (Methodist College), and Niki Dobbins (Peace College) were all 3-3 with 3 runs scored.
Game 2 saw Team USA roll to a 16-2 win again after 3 innings. Libby Fulford (NC Wesleyan) scattered 6 hits with 3 strike outs. Meagan Knight and Mallory Meyer both homered in the win.
Team USA will hold an instructional clinic tomorrow morning to assist the French National Team as they prepare for the European Championships next weekend in Italy. We will then play one game after the clinic.
Based on what we saw today, the French have a long way to go.
Now I know why the European Olympic Voting Block knocked softball out of the Olympics.
We will report as we get more scores. Thanks for all the support and well wishes. we will arrive back in Raleigh on Monday night around 6PM.

 

USA wins final game, 6-0 on trip.....

We did an hour and half clinic this morning...., concentrating on hitting and pitching with the French players....

We won our final game, 15-3, with Jenny Sorensen and Mallory Meyer scattering 5 hits with 4 k's.
Amy Faucette, Methodist College was 3-3, as the French National team
used 7 pitchers, ( 1 each inning ) to get some time pitching against our
kids...
Jaimee Cassidy, CJ McQueen, Nicole Shoemaker, and Niki Dobbins all had multiple hits.
Dobbins had a rare " inside the park " grand slam.

French team had a unique left handed pitcher.. she pitched left handed,
but was right handed in the outfield...?????
She actually has 2 gloves...

We fly home tomorrow...had a great time, but the kids are sure missing the USA... Buy Bojangles stock...I think everyone will be going there as soon as we get back... No sweet tea here....

It is 800 pm now, 200 pm your time...off the Hard Rcok Cafe Barcelona for dinner...
