The girls in red, white and blue swept their series with " Hercules" of the Spanish Federation "A" league, winning the final game of the series 13-5.

Team USA banged out 16 hits in the win. Mallory Meyer of Widener College and Libby Fulford of NC Wesleyan were dominating on the mound, allowing only 2 hits while striking out 11. Only 2 of Hercules runs were earned, as Team USA struggled early with 3 errors.

The middle of the lineup, ( Jaimee Cassidy, Pfieffer University, Sarah Heenan, Peace College and Mallory Meyers, Widener had 8 hits between them with 7 rbi's.

The girls hosted the Hercules team after the game with a traditional American cookout, ( Hamburgers and Chicken ) and traded shirts and visors with the Spanish pro team.

We have an off day today ( Friday ) and leave for Spain Saturday morning. We will play the French National team in a 4 game series, starting with a DH on Saturday afternoon.

The weather has been HOT...we are having a great time. These kids are representing themselves well...

I will keep you informed as we move to France.

Hercules, a member of the Spanish Softball Federation "A" division
is a middle of the pack team in this 10 team league.

First 6 hitters were left handed, trained very well with a short game mentality.
2-3 of their girls hit with power. We shut down their short game, and they struggled severely when that was taken away.

    Ages run from 19 - 27.
Defensively, they are average...we ran at will on their catcher..her pop times were in the 2.95 - 3.0 range.

Pitchers were good..high D2, Low level D1 in respect to NCAA.
    They were very predictable.

They need resources... they do not have the " hardware ", which means
    top level equiptment, etc...

We challenged them with speed and power.
Allot of hit and run, and made them catch the ball.

I expect a bigger challenge when we get to France...

Thanks so much for all the support..
The girls have been reading your well wishes,
and are excited about all the support.

    Will keep you updated!!
