Format was good but the USFA umpires was very, very bad.
When you pay 300.00 to play you expect great umpires.
For example: ball hits runner on foot straight from bat,you know and I know that is an out.umpire said safe,Illegal bats all mikens was thrown out on SAT but allowed back on SUN.Made up rules as they went.No rule book was ever given at all!a girl had to go to the bathroom and they stoped the timer and let her go.That put us 15 mins behind.Should have used subs or takien an out if you don't have subs. It's a joke to play and it was our 1st and our last.
I'm not just saying this because we didn't win 1st,our team played great. It's the gods honest truth.Don't waste your money on USFA. As far as the beach we had a great time and allot of fun.

    18u teams at Beach

There was ten 18u teams at the tournament. East Coast Strikers, Carolina Scochers, Lady Dawgs, Virginia Silver Bullets, Renegades, Blue Ice, and the 4 mentioned in previous post.

I do not recommend playing in any USFA tournaments if the officiating is as bad as it was in this one. Below is a few things I observed while watching games.

1- Bat that was illegal one day was ok the next day.
2- Stop game for 10 mins so player could go to bathroom.
3- Base runner hit by a batted ball was called safe.
4- Umpire ease dropping on what players was saying in pitching circle. Umpire then told coach to go to mound and get his players together and instruct them as what they could say while in circle. Then he charged the coach a time out for the visit.
5- Use of an illegal player in lineup. Player was in batting lineup, but had not batted yet was put in to run for another player.
7- Ejected the female coach of a team when she answered a question "you really care" Question was "do you want a towel for your pitcher".
8- In my opinion this all came about because the female coach told the Ump that he had no right to listen to what her girls were talking about in the circle.
9- It is also my opinion that they allowed a bat to be used that a ball was hit with that sent a girl to the hospital with a severely injured eye. A line drive off the bat in question did the damage.
10- Coach could not get a time out to put subs in that had not played in game. Several girls was there all weekend and didn't get to play at all. That's just not right.

Many times I have said that "this is the worst tournament we have ever played in", but this time I really mean it! It was horrible and I surely understand why most of the teams from this area don't play in it! We learned our lesson!
