The players from W. Forsyth called the Davie coach and apologized to him. Their coach was also going to have these boys come to Rich Park early on Friday to help get the field ready, but the game has been rescheduled for today, so I don't know if they will come today or not. One of the kids played legion ball for Mocksville last summer and you all know the mess that went on with West getting their own Legion team, so I don't know if he did this for spite or what, but its just teenage boys being teenage boys, but they need to know that their are consequences for doing these kind of things. If it were my child he would surely get in trouble at home whether or not he got in trouble with his coach.

Boys will be boys, definitely. But some kind of punishment should be given to them by their Coach if indeed they went to another school and pulled this sort of prank. Maybe not kicked off team or suspended for the year, but some kind of punishment should be handed out. Just my 2 cents.

    Tolerance?

Vandalism in any shape or form should not be tolerated by the coaches, athletic directors or parents. Conduct of this nature should be addressed with the toughest punishment allowed.... Nothing less than being kicked off the team.
So many people want to preach sportsmanship until an act such as this comes up. Now we want to turn the other cheek and say it is just boys being boys.
High School age kids are old enough to know better and should be treated in that manner. These youth represent their school and parents. This is an absolute embarrassment to these kids, their parents, and their school. An example should be made. IMHO

If players on our team did this there would be no doubt what the punishment would be. Gone for the season.

I think expulsion from the team is a good fit (unfortunately, this punishment would impact the entire team and some innocent players)!! I also think that a phone call to the Davie coach is not humiliating enough. The boys should have been face to face with the coach.

Taunting and harrassment has become all too commonplace on the baseball field (high school and legion) where we are supposed to be enjoying a "game". These types of actions and behaviors continue to erode the atmosphere. And unbelievably, in some cases, people simply accept this and state that "It's just a part of the game" (as mentioned in a previous thread). Players, coaches and parents should be held accountable. Umpires should get control of situations and act quickly when things turn ugly.

Its a shame when a fan walks away from a baseball game (win or lose) feeling angry and that anger wasn't caused by the game.

It has been many years ago, but I used to Coach at Davie High School, and spent many of hours at Rich Park getting it ready for games. I remember when it still had a dirt infield, riding around in circles on that old yellow tractor. Now to the players from WF...if the only thing they did was mess up the field taking batting practice is one thing, may be help fix it for a couple games is in order...and forced to miss the Davie/West game at Rich Park, and clean up afterwards. Now, if they did paint on some buildings, field, etc... that is a matter for the Mocksville Police Department...Rich Park is the property of the City of Mocksville, NOT the Davie School System.
Oh, as to why the West players when to Rich Park for batting practice and not their school. Their school's baseball field is locked...where Rich Park is a a public park, and very easy to go into, (or at least it used to be easy to get into). Thanks for letting me put my 2 cents in.

Rowancounty baseball, why are you so interested in what is going on at West Forsyth? And why do you bring it up again, this thread has been dead for over a month. I bet you know exactly what was done to the people involved.

Looking back at the schedule, I think the Tuesday you are talking about the game was against WF. Why does a WF supporter hide behind the name Rowancountybaseball?
