That is at least the third, maybe the fourth, time this year that the hard luck Titans have lost on a walk off HR. If you look at bottom of the 7th game winning hits in general (HR or singles, etc...), I think the total balloons to around 7 times. However, I've heard more than one coach say that to learn how to win, you need to have some hard fought, hard luck losses. Coach Smith and the Titans will turn this thing around, it will just take time. I would be willing to bet, though, that there are several NW4A coaches that don't want to see the name McDowell on their bracket come tournament time. They have been really competitive with everyone with the possible exception of South Caldwell.

    Hopewell over Central Cabarrus

    Hopewell 5 - Central Cabarrus - 3

Important conference win for the Titans! Adam Waters had 6 strong on the hill for Hopewell, allowing 3 hits and one run. Jon Fisher came in for the 7th, allowing two runs, but got a big strike out with bases loaded for the final out of the game. Leading hitters for Hopewell --Adam Waters-2 for 4; Jack Lane-1 for 3 (2B, 2 rbi's); Johnathan Guerrier-1 for 2 (2B, 2 rbi's); Rusty White - 2 for 3 (3B). Titans improve to 15-2.
