When I was in HS many moons ago, we once batted around 3 times in the first inning alone, I don't even remember the score,,, I just remember one of my buds who made the 1st 2 outs, and he was on deck when the 3rd out was made. He later admitted that he was praying for someone to make that 3rd out, because he didn't want to make all 3 outs in the same inning. True story.

Btw travisunc, ya reckon those lopsided scores were a result of still some fallout from Hightower's days when he coached up at Statesville?

    31-0???

    PAC-7 4-17-08 East Chapel Hill 6, Person 4

    PER- 001 120 0 - 4 6 5
    ECH- 100 041 x - 6 7 2

    WP - Rob Moore
    LP - Jeremy Peed (CG, 6 runs, 1 ER, 7 hits, 3 K's 0 BB)

    Leading HItters:
East Chapel Hill: Alex Tempesta 1-4, James Heine 1-4, Rob Moore 1-4 (2 RBI), Ryan Watts 1-2, Ben Brown 1-3, Brett Forcini 2-3

Person: Ricky Crabtree 2-3 (HR, 2 RBI), Trey Davis 1-4, Travis Vaughan 1-2, MArc Davis 1-2, Stephen Wright 1-3

Person allowed 4 unearned runs in the bottom of the 5th that turned a 4-1 lead into a 5-4 deficit. 5 of 6 runs were unearned. The only earned run was score in the 6th.

Rob Moore (LHP) pitched a heckuva game for East keeping Person off balance, and East was able to capitalize on Person's errors. East did what they needed to to win and I am not putting them down in any way.

    Records:
    Person 11-7 (4-5)
    East Chapel Hill 8-8 (4-4)

Chad Rothlin throws a complete game 3 hitter with 12 k's in leading tigers over the indians. Saint pitcher Matt Rowe kept tiger bats shut down until 5th inning when tigers collected 4 of their 6 hits for the night and scored 4 runs with the big hit being a bases loaded single by Jason Jinorio to drive in the 1st run of the game. Well played game by both teams with neither team committing any errors. No one from either team had more than 1 hit. Pleasure to see coach reese and batsandballs29.

Brad Chavis has now hit 5 HRs in the past 3 games alone with the last 2 games ending in Walk off Grand Slams. The previous game at Freedom earlier in the season, Chavis hit the 1st 2 pitches he saw out of the park. I believe Chavis reached base safely all 4 trips to the plate in the 5 inning game.

After 2 complete innings we still had a scoreless game and Freedom played smart ball early by walking Chavis. The next 2 trips to the plate they had no choice but to pitch to him because of people on base and in both cases he came through with big hits.

I definitely see a lot of improvement with this Freedom team from the first time South played them and Freedom really played hard and made several great defensive plays in the infield.

Jimmy Messer pitched a No Hitter and allowed no walks as well. Only 1 baserunner reached base off an error. Jimmy threw only 53 pitches of which 36 were strikes. The Spartans are ranked nationally #15 in USA Today and #12 in Baseball America.
