CVAC tournament BANDYS 13 FOARD 4

Trojans get their revenge from the night before by defeating the tigers in the 1st round of conference tournament. Bandys came out smoking with the bats and score 3 in top of 1st. In bottom of 1st Landon Isenhour strokes a solo home run, followed by a single by Andrew Wyant and a home run by Robert Mckinney to tie game at 3-3. Other than a 4th inning solo home run by Chad Rothlin, the rest of the night was totally Bandys as they sent 12 batters to the plate in the 4th and scored 8 runs off of hits, errors and walks with the big hit being a 3 run home run by Colby Yount, followed by 2 more in the 5th. Not making excuses but high pitch counts ( over 180 total) and slow pace by tigers pitchers tends to put your fielders asleep. Oh well time to regroup and pull for batsandballs29 in the tournament.

yeah it sounds like hamby was on his game and bandys was ready to play after that extra inning affair. and obviously tuesday night put a dent in the tiger staff. it's tough to do that 2 nights in a row. thanks for the good luck wishes. i'm almost positive we'll see you at the ballpark over the next 2 days.

    Hopewell - 10, Vance - 5 (5 innings)

Senior Night for the Hopewell, with best wishes going out to seven great young men who will leave the Titans after this season. Jack Lane got the start on the hill and Kody Schrenk came in relief. Hopewell moves to 20-3 on the season and records their FIRST 20-WIN "REGULAR SEASON". Yep, tuesday's 9 inning game put 2 big dents in the tiger pitching staff, but we figured you and Hibriten needed company at the top of the final regular season standings. And yes you will see me friday and saturday, tigers still have a vested interest in the tournament if you know what i mean.

    Details on South Granville No-hitter

Junior Josh Darroch pitched the gem Wed. against E. Alamance in the Mid-State 3A conf. tournament semis. 14 K, 2 BB. Now 7-2 on the year.
Cy Allmond for Eastern was the hard-luck loser. He tossed a two-hitter, with 4 K.
South Granville hit it hard several times right at people and EA made plays.
Keith Goodwin singled in the 6th and stole 2B. After advancing to 3rd on a Pratt Maynard groundout to second, Goodwin advanced on a wild pitch to score the lone run of the game.
    South Granville now 20-5 overall.
