Marivn Ridge defeated Anson Co. 11-3 tonight to finish 19-4 on the season and wins the SPC conference outright in the programs first year.

North Meck and Hopewell are MECA 7 Conference Co-Champions and will play on Monday night @ 7:00 pm at Mallard Creek to decide the #1 seed for the playoffs.

 

Too bad they could not play at UNCC and make it a doubleheader with the SW4A tournament final.

Michael McLawhorn hit the 7th pitch of the game over the left field fence to give Fike the only run of the game. He also had two other hits and made the defensive play of the game.

Bentley Massey was superb on the mound tossing the shutout after working 4 innings on Tuesday night. He allowed only 4 hits.

I was part of a 6 man umpiring crew and that was a big treat.

Two great teams, two great pitchers and no errors by either team.

This game will air on the Stretchlon Sports Show and on the internet next Sunday night.

Baseball Britt left immediately after the game for SIBERIA!!!!!!!!!

 

North Meck/Hopewell Playoff Location

I agree, Mallard Creek is a new school, a great school but the field and accommodations (no sounds system, no parking, no concessions....etc.) are not ready for this type of a game. This game needs to be played at another neutral site, one appropriate for the event.

 

I don't have details, but in the 4A CPC tournament last night:

- Mt Tabor upsed West Forsyth (I think) 5-4

- North Davidson shut out Davie Co in 5 innings.
