Garrett sherrill is playing basketball still but he has not yet signed to play. I look for him to sign this spring somewhere for football and baseball

Garrett can go anywhere in the world he wants... Ya know he has a GPA of about 10,000.9

i think he is more fitting for baseball than football... but he is talented enough to do both in college...

You do know that what is now Duke University was started just north of Taylorsville on Hwy 16? There is one of those historical markers and if I remember correctly it is in Vashti.

This is the important post here Catamount .... ignore those other guys giving geography lessons.

This is great news for Dusty. I know the people over at WF are very proud of him. We're collecting quite a list of players to watch over at LRC.

To answer the questions about Garrett Sherrill,,,, obviously Garrett's going to sign with someone eventually, and most likely it will be in baseball. He's simply weighing all his options right now because he wants to make the right decision. Afterall, we're talking about a super pitcher who stands 6'5" and been very successful at every level, but also a kid who can put a kickoff into the endzone, and the other night he just went out and scored 30 in the Wonders' basketball game.

Someone else mentioned his GPA, that won't hurt him either. Garrett's simply a good person overall and some college is going to be getting a good'en...

    Update on Signing statistics nationwide.

As of yesterday, there were 1059 announced signings/commitments around the country. I expect there may be 50-75 that aren't public yet, but most are. Some of the unannounced are probably from NC so we'll ignore them in our estimates:

    Category, NC, Nation, Percentage
    Signees, 86, 1059, 8.2%
    Seniors*, 2845, 130100, 2.2%

Now look at it on the basis of Schools. No school (so far) has had 6 commitments announced. There are 4 schools who have had 5 players sign:

    Roswell HS, Roswell, GA
Oak Park HS, Oak Park, IL
    South Mecklenburg HS, Charlotte, NC
    Germantown Academy, Fort Washington, PA

Not bad company to keep. Roswell is in the East Cobb area. Oak Park, Illinois is a suburb of Chicago, Germantown Academy is the oldest private school in the nation, outside of Philly and honestly, the grads from there are impressive academically (Signed with Penn, Holy Cross, Delaware, etc).
